Happy New Year

The girls are off at sleepovers and Chris is watching a game...so I'm bringing in the new year with my main man.  Here we are with our celebratory beverages 

Bloomington

Over Christmas break we decided to take a couple days to go to Bloomington.  Hit the museum, swam at the hotel and stopped by to see Chris' step-dad.  Meagan and I had tea at the Bake House near campus and secretly plotted her going to school at IU.  3 1/2 years should be enough time for Chris to wrap his mind around her not being a Boilermaker.

P.J.'s and pie

This is the second year for a new tradition I have decided to call "PJ's and pie".  Its when my side of the family gets together on Christmas Day.  By this time we are all so wiped out from cooking and hosting parties.  Everyone comes in pj's.  No fancy dinner, just snacks and pie.  Besides, snacky dinners are our favorite anyway.  "Snacky dinner" is what my kids call it when we eat cereal, peanut butter toast, ramen noodles, or any other type of food that does not easily fall into the "dinner" category.  This year all the girls got adult footie pajamas which Chris thinks are the most ridiculous things he has ever seen.  I think somebody's just jealous.

We really wanted to go to Dulls's again to chop down our own tree but was just not in the cards this year weather-wise.  So we went to the nursery across the street.  Was not quite as adventurous but we had picked it out, socked it in the van and decorated all within about 2 hours!
