Life and times...

I realized that I haven't given much of an update about the girls in awhile. We've been a little consumed with the fundraiser and now that is getting wrapped up (whew!)
Check out the blog...we raised over $1,300 and more money is still rolling in. We were able to completely fund one little boy's eye surgery so far. Here is Tracee helping me glue pictures onto cards. She loves to have her picture taken.

Meagan recently got glasses and was diagnosed with mild asthma...both curses from her parents. Of course she is not wearing HER glasses in this picture...they're mine. NiNi's eyes are fine, she's just trying to blend in with the rest of the family. Meagan got a bike for her birthday and she is trying to conquer her fear of riding it. She doesn't want to be the only second grader next year who can't ride a two wheeler. At this point, even riding it with the training wheels ON is a challenge. Well, I guess I was a little bit of a late bloomer athletically as well. Late Bloomer? What am I talking about. I NEVER bloomed. I like to blame it on being traumatized in gym class by all of those dreaded dodge-ball games. Oh how I hated dodge ball. And everyone tried to get me out first because they knew I was a wimp...which was actually fine with me.

NiNi is not throwing up gang signs in this picture...at least I don't think so. But she is certainly into everything else. Let see...her recent escapades include feeding the fish...and I bet you can guess that it wasn't just a pinch. Chris called it the "great banquet." Yep, she emptied the entire container of fish food into the tank. I thought for sure the fish were goners. I ended up having to tear down the tank, clean it out and completely replace the water. Argggh. It took an entire afternoon. Chris came home from work the other day to find NiNi wandering around in the driveway BY HERSELF! None of us realized that she had figured out how to open doors. We now have those annoying safety doorknobs on almost every door. She also learned how to peel bananas...I mean start them with her little fingernail and everything. I guess I was a little late in getting dinner on the table one day and I found her sitting in a pile of banana peels. She had eaten 2 already and was well into her 3rd. She didn't eat dinner that night. Her speech continues to improve. Her new favorite phrase is "NO, Daddy!"

We are LOVING the weather. I feel like I'm getting my very low endorphin supply replenished after the long and cruddy Indiana winter. All of my spring flowers are gorgeous. Check out the bleeding heart bush below. Chris is right now tilling up the garden...can't wait to enjoy REAL tomatoes again not those tasteless ones from the grocery store. More pictures and stuff to post later!
